A walk around Constable Country 28th August 2010

My family and I set off from home for a hours drive up the A12 to Start our walk around the various places that inspired many of John Constables paintings, and takes us through both Essex and Suffolk.. Our first and starting point was Dedham in Essex.

We walked up into Dedham village and had a nose around in a Art and craft centre before finding the footpath that leads us onto Flatford Mill along the beautiful River Stour.

Below is Bridge cottage by the hump back bridge..........

We came across a John Constable exhibition which we had a quick look around.It is amazing those old buildings how low the ceilings and doors were!! and I'm not even tall lol.

We then came across the location of Constable's Boat building painting, picture below....

We then set off along a lane past a beautiful B&B (pic below) and then onto Flatford Mill.

We now arrive at Flatford Mill, the location for Constables probably best known painting The Haywain.....
